Backbend pain sucks!
But have no fear, just recently I’ve embarked on presenting a series of workshops designd to use our bodies more intelligently. The workshop this weekend was all based on finding strength and moving intelligently with that strength during your yoga practice. In this workshop we built foundations and understanding for our practice, in the next workshop we will, from these foundations, then learn to move in other directions… in the direction of backbends! So, our next workshop will build, from a place of strength and safety, the foundations for comfortable backbending. We will learn to play with our limits, to push those limits just a little, and to slowly increase and learn to backbend deeply without that horrible feeling in the lower back.
